Eli Njuchi, born Chifuniro Steven Magalasi on July 23, 2003, in Lilongwe, Malawi, is a young artist from a family of six, where he is the third born. He is related to the late dancehall icon ‘Mafunyeta’ (Patrick Magalasi). At the age of 13, Eli started making music with his close friend Veda, rapping as Stevovo. In 2015, he recorded his first track ‘Never Leave You’, produced by Chycoon. Later, he joined the ‘Njuchi Muzik Group’ or ‘Njuchi StingDem’, where he learned more about music. The group comprises of three artists, including himself, Coctiz, and Chizmo, and they released a snippet of the ‘Girlfriend’s Friend’ video in 2018, creating a small fan base for the group.

In March 2018, Eli Njuchi released his single track ‘Illuminati’, which opened doors for him in terms of building a fan base and working with established artists. He was featured in Toast’s ‘Hakuna Matata’ single. The same year, he won the UMP ‘Best New Act’ Award. In collaboration with gospel rapper ‘Suffix’ and AK, he released a remix of his hit song ‘Illuminati’.

In 2020, Eli Njuchi released his first collection titled ‘The Book Of Z’, which included popular songs such as ‘Zitaye’, ‘Zitheke’, and ‘Z’. He did not stop there, as in December 2020, he made history with the massive launch of his album, ‘The Book Of Eli’, at Robin’s Park in Blantyre. At such a young age, Eli has become an ambassador of dreams come true, representing the hardworking young people pushing boundaries set by culture and life. He was also made the WWE Snacks ambassador and an UN Women HE FOR SHE campaign ambassador.
