About Saint Realest
Saint Realest, born September 12th, 1994, is a Malawian musician born in the city of Blantyre. His real name is Yamikani Chikwawe and he is an Afro-pop singer, songwriter, and record producer. Saint Realest developed a passion for music at a young age, influenced by the sounds of Malawian legends like Gidion Zalira and Anthony Makondetsa.
He is a singer, songwriter, and musician who has been making music since 2007. He is known for his unique blend of reggae, dancehall, and Afrobeat music.
Saint Realest started his career by releasing singles under the labels Abstract Records and Step Up Records. In 2012, he shot to fame with his debut single “No Love”. The song was a hit in Malawi and helped to establish Saint Realest as a rising star in the country’s music scene.
In 2013, Saint Realest signed with Kutchira Entertainment and released his debut album, “Ndimalakwitsa”. The album was a commercial success and helped to solidify Saint Realest’s position as one of the most popular artists in Malawi. He has since released several other successful albums, including his latest, Ah Yami that was released in 2023.
In addition to his music career, Saint Realest has also worked as a part-time DJ at MBC Radio 2 FM.
