About Thomson Mpinganjira
Thomson Mpinganjira was born in 1961 in Blantyre, Malawi. He is a businessman and accountant who is the founder and group CEO of FDH Financial Holdings Limited, a financial services group in Malawi. He is also a member of the Malawi Economic Council and the Malawi National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Mpinganjira attended Blantyre Secondary School and then proceeded to Zomba Catholic Secondary School and then went on to study accounting at the University of Malawi. After graduating, he worked as an accountant for several companies, including Deloitte and Mandala. In 2000, he founded the Malawi Stock Exchange and served as its first CEO. In 2008, he founded FDH Bank, which is now one of the largest banks in Malawi.
Dr Mpinganjira is a respected businessman in Malawi and has been recognized for his contributions to the country’s economy. He was awarded the Order of the Distinguished Service (DOS) in 2014 by the Malawian government.
